I moved to Paris on a whim almost two years ago to work as a private cook for a wealthy family. I knew no one and had no real idea of what would come. With a cheap super 8mm camera i wandered the streets and filmed strangers, partially for something to do.I was lonely and having a camera invites people talk to you if you don't look too intimidating, and partially because being in Paris and knowing no one somehow gives you license to change yourself (wear high heels everywhere, or not, wear too much makeup, dress up, play a part) and follow anyone (you probably won't have a friend in common i thought). surprisingly that isn't always true.
